Institutional Biosafety Committee

Getting Started

Pre-Submission:
What do you need to prepare for submission?

Prior to submitting a new protocol to the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) for review, the principal investigator should:

  • Download and complete a new protocol submission form which can be found on the Forms page.
  • Once the new protocol submission has been received by the IBC administrator, it will be assigned an IBC protocol number as well as IBC reviewers.
  • Ensure that personnel listed on the protocol submission form have read and understood their responsibilities as it applies to the proposed research.
  • Ensure that personnel listed on the protocol submission form are up-to-date on appropriate training. An overview of required training can be found on the Biosafety Training page.
